Merchants can use Stripe’s payment management system with Loop to collect onchain payments for one-time purchases, subscriptions and invoices.

Merchants manage their billing logic (including coupon codes, free trials, charging per API, etc), product creation, and subscription management within Stripe. Thus, merchants can use the same logic for regardless of whether their customers have chosen to pay with fiat or on.

How Stripe utilizes Loop

Merchants can add Loop as an external payment source. This is done by using a Stripe API key granting Loop permission to update Stripe when customers onchain.

This API key allows Loop to:

  • Pull in any “products” already configured in Stripe. Going forward as products are made in Stripe, they will automatically be created in Loop.
  • Create customers in Stripe when a checkout via Loop in crypto is successfully completed
  • Create subscriptions in Stripe when a checkout via Loop in crypto is successfully completed
  • Manage subscriptions in Stripe when a customer cancels via the Loop Customer Portal
